Head of PWRR Boxing, Lt Col Steve Wall MBE writes (2018):
LCpl Chez Nihell successfully defended his England Title Belt for the 3rd time and now keeps the belt forever. He is the first person in history to ever do that at Super Heavyweight, let alone for a soldier to do it. He made history in style by a unanimous win at the Infantry Training Centre, Catterick. To win this belt outright he won in 2017 at York Hall in front of the Regimental Secretary, some Association Members and Friends of PWRR. He then went on to win 3 Title defences, all by a unanimous win - all his opponents were ranked in the top 10 in the 4 Nations. He has now vacated the Title to allows others to compete for it. In a victory speech on Forces TV, in front of a packed crowd at ITC, he reminded the recruits that he was "at ITC myself only 6 years ago undergoing the tough Combat Infantryman’s course and tonight I boxed in front of you as the England Super Heavyweight Title Belt holder – so you really can achieve your dreams." |
Congratulations to LCpl Chez Nihell and all the Tigers Boxers!
