Why Do We Raise Funds?

  • One fund looks after only Tigers & our famous forebear regiment veterans: PWRR Benevolent Fund.
  • Comradeship: Our #1 duty is to look after our comrades - the PWRR BF is our fund.

  • If you do raise funds for other charities, why not split them 50/50 with PWRR BF and do both? 

Tiger Welfare - Our Fund

The PWRR Benevolent Fund exists for the Benevolence of all serving and retired Tigers and our proud forebear regiments. It is a precious resource raised by Tigers and by our generous forebear regiments, kind donors and ongoing fundraising events. The fund is for ourselves - it is strictly controlled and overseen for all Tigers by a Regimental Board of Trustees advised by Legal and Financial services in line with the Charities Commission and UK law.  No wastage is allowed. ​Typical recent help has seen awards to:
  • a serving soldier in distress from ill health;
  • a serving SNCO family after a personal tragedy;
  • a veteran with a severe illness and many others. 
Last year also another great national Army Charity fund, the Army Benevolent Fund (ABF), granted over £100,000 to our veterans in many serious cases - our thanks to them as The Soldier's Charity.

Welfare Support

Need Help? A fellow Tiger in need? How does it work?
  1. ​Contact the Assistant Regimental Secretary at RHQ PWRR on 0203 166 690 or email: [email protected] and give a full description of your problem.
  2. The Assistant Regimental Secretary or Applicant will contact a caseworker from either The Royal British Legion or SSAFA Forces Help.  
  3. You will then receive a home visit (by SSAFA) and an application for assistance may then be submitted to the Benevolence Secretary PWRR.
  4. Appropriate use is made of all available agencies and you will receive PWRR Benevolence if the application is approved.
If you wish to ask for advice in the meantime, the following agencies are available to assist:
Army Welfare Service - A professional confidential welfare support service for servicemen and women and their families, wherever they are located.  Contact: 01980 615975.
Service Personnel Veterans Agency - Provides MOD compensation for service related injury/disablement and a one to one welfare service, especially relevant for those transitioning to civilian life.  Contact: 0800 169 2277.
ABF, The Soldiers’ Charity - Lifetime support to serving/retired soldiers and their families.  Contact: 0845 241 4820.
